Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets. — Luke 6:22-23
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. — Luke 10:19-20
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. — Matt. 13:44
These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. — John 15:11

What a great word -"joy" is.
This has been a difficult week as we laid off 17 people. In tough times I usually just tend to suck it up and make the best of it, but this was different.
I wanted to seek God out in the struggles and embrace the pain - even to the point of wanting to make the lay-offs personally.
I prayed for God's presense and was so blessed with a Joy. It is difficult to explain.
Reading John 15:9-17 this morning and thinking about friends, love, and joy - thinking about Jesus choosing each of us, choosing US!!!
That's something to be joyful for..... No matter how good or bad a week I've had.
Thank you Lord for the struggles this week. Thank you for bringing me closer to you. Thank you for your presense. Thank you for your joy. Amen
