I pray that I can love God for who He is - not who I want Him to be.
I recently heard, "God is love ... and love is not God". There is a big difference.
If love is God, then my definition of love defines who God is and how he acts toward me. More often than not, this means that God is agape, storge, familal (sp) love and that He is basically a nice guy.
On the other hand, if God is love, then *everything* that I see God doing in the Bible is love. God defines love ... even when I don't understand it.
